Leitch makes GB U22 Squad

GB Squads Set

Following GB’s World Championship success, this weekend the U22 Men and U24 Women’s Great Britain Wheelchair Basketball Squads were announced.

The squads will compete in the IWBF European Championships next week. The men will head over to Italy and the Women will be jetting over the Channel to France.

Scott Wallace, will head up the U22 Men’s along with Pete Finbow . The Women will be coached by Dan Price, assisted by Ally Hope. Wallace coaches Team UK Invictus whilst Price was assistant to The GB Women’s squad last season.

Ben Leitch, Glasgow Rocks, has been named into the final squad for the U22 men as the only Scottish player. Leitch, who was a leader for his former Lothian Phoenix side in BWB D2 and in the CliniMed SBC.

Speaking on his roster selection, Leitch said

“It’s an honour to be named into the squad and represent my country at such a high level. I’m really looking forward to seeing the variation in competition around the world, seeing more than just Wheelchair Basketball in the UK.”

“I’m looking forward to playing under such a knowledgeable coach. It’ll test me playing on the European stage, especially with the reputation the GB shirt brings – after Worlds.”
