Scotland Announce the U17 Wheelchair Basketball Squad Ahead of Trip to Belgium
The current National Academy for BasketballScotland has today confirmed its squad as they prepare to fly out to an Invitational Tournament.
The tournament will take place on October 18-20th in Blankenberge, Belgium and is hosted by Belgian Wheelchair Basketball Club, Leuven Bears.
The Bears youth squad won the Belgian Cup back in May and will welcome U17 teams from across Belgium, Germany, France and Scotland.
Four Scottish clubs are set to be represented in the squad, and BasketballScotland’s Tina Gordon said ahead of the tournament,
“Building on the success of the squad from this Summer’s National Junior Championships, we are delighted to be competing in the ‘Leuven Bears International Youth Tournament’ in Belgium. The tournament will not only greatly enhance players on court basketball skills by playing against teams from Belgium, Germany and France, but also players personal development and teamwork.”Tina Gordon, BasketballScotland
