Scottish Basketball success as trio make it to U16 GB

This has been a great summer for Scottish and British Hoops. With representatives in GB U20, Sean Nealon-Lino and Hannah Robb, the quartette of Callan Low, Alix Henderson, Chris Feeney and Shawnisay Millar balling for the U18, we now have U16’s reppin’.

The training camp squads have been announced ahead of the U16 FIBA European Championships and Scotland has a trio of players entering camp in Manchester this weekend.

City of Edinburgh Basketball will be delighted that they have had 2 of their very own products be named into the squad with Scottish Star Pollyanna Storie and Owen Mackle being named into the Women’s and Men’s squad respectively.

Storie has been playing for Edinburgh University this season in the Senior National League as well as going undefeated with home club in the U18 National League and made this step up to the WBBL with Caledonia Pride.

Mackle has been one of the first to compete in the English Basketball League, with a Scottish Club as The Kings entered the NBL this season for U16. Mackle has also played for the U18’s in SBC.

Joining Storie in camp, will be Perth Phoenix stand out Ella Doherty. Doherty is coming off a league winning season as well as a Cup Final appearance and Playoff Final appearance with the Perth side.
