Scottish hopefuls in GB U16 Women Selections

Ahead of this years FIBA European Championships, 26 of Britains best Under 16 Female ballers have been shortlisted as part of a 2 day tournament.

The Pauline Prior International Challenge will be played in Nottingham and will feature the recently selected England U15 squad, as will the Ireland U16 team who finished a place above GB at last season’s U16 European Championships.

Included in the 26 are 4 Scots all plying their trade with Scottish clubs.  Eabha Kerr of Falkirk Fury receives her first GB call-up after breaking into the WBBL this year with Caledonia Pride.

Fellow Pride team mates Rose Harvey and Jannike Marshall, both formerly of West Lothian Wolves also receive their first GB nomination (Marshall also suited up for Polonia Phoenix and Boroughmuir Blaze).

Returning to the GB set up is Perth Phoenix star Ella Doherty who picked up the MVP award in this years SBC Playoff Final. Doherty returns to Coach Liburds squad after her selection last year.

“I’m excited to get the players together and continue the journey towards this year’s European Championships in Bulgaria,” said Head Coach Kenrick Liburd. “It will be good to get everyone together as a group, and the games against England and Ireland should give us a really good look at what the group has to give.”
